Well, that's the end of the road for me and my Oklahoma Sooners! It was so much fun participating in the March Blogger Match-Up. You can keep following along by following the winner of last night's game, Michigan State (AKA Learning in the Little Apple)

Now, on to the GOOD stuff! My loss also coincides with the launch of an updated unit I've been working on F.O.R.E.V.E.R.
As you can see, the reason it took so long is that my simple "update" became a complete overhaul! The "old" unit was fun but just a bit too basic. Today's non-fiction studies require more rigor. You will find the same "fun" activities from the first unit, just with updated graphics and fonts. There are also many new activities designed to help your students delve deeper into the desert habitat, the plants and animals that live there, and the adaptations they have made to survive. You can see a picture preview below.

Here's a closer look at some of my favorite activities in the unit:
To launch your Junior Biologist Desert Habitat study simply print the name badges and field guide covers. You can choose from a variety of worksheets included in this pack to fill the Field Guide. Use a book binder to give it a professional look.
There are 6 different "Fact Sheets" included in the unit. They all have worksheets that can be used with them.
The Cacti Fact Sheet has an accompanying craftivity that is fun for students and looks nice as a hallway display.
My favorite craftivity is the Desert Habitat Fact Mobile or Flap Book. Hard to photograph but so fun to make!
That's just a small snippet of all that is included. There are also two original stories for shared reading, a performance piece, a mini book, and lots of practice with "reading for information".
In honor of my loss I'm giving away a copy on Facebook. Click the picture below to be redirected to my Facebook page and leave a comment with your email address. I'll pick a winner by 10 pm EST Sunday, March 29th.

I'm also Giving away the old version FOR FREE!! For a limited time, you can click below to download the old version. Enjoy! I've learned a lot since 2012. LOL. :)

I also uploaded a Junior Biologist Habitat Guide. This unit includes Junior Biologist badges, field guides, and worksheets for the study of any habitat. If you're looking for an easy way to make your habitat studies more streamlined and consistent this is for you. The perfect supplement to any curriculum or book.

You will find the same Habitat Fact Mobile or Flap Book as in The Desert Habitat Unit just a more generic form that can be used with any habitat.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by!

The March Blogger Match-Up is ON!! I was so excited to sign-up for this. What a great idea, Ashlyn! (The Creative Classroom)
Disclaimer: I know nothing about basketball, let alone college basketball. However, I am married to one of the world's biggest NCAA junkies. My hubby takes the Thursday and Friday of the tournament off every.single.year. He's a bracket master, I tell you! So, needless to say, I've been asking a lot of questions.

Here's how it works. 64 Teacher Bloggers were each assigned a team. If your team wins, you move on. If you lose you must offer a freebie to your followers!

I was assigned Oklahoma, which my husband informs me is a 3 seed...?? Ha.

They have a pretty rad mascot? Logo?

Not.
:)

Let's not focus on the logo. These are my boys and I'm loyal through and through. Let's go Sooners! We're playing the Albany Great Danes (aka Katie over at Rock and Teach) RIGHT NOW!!

Here's what I'm giving away for free:
I'm currently updating this product and it's turned into a complete overhaul. I'm hoping the Sooners win so I have more time to work on it! But inevitably, at some point, it will be you're- FREE.
Here's a sneak peak

Okay, back to work. I have a TON to do. Clearly!

Bottom line, you, the followers, win!

I hope you'll follow all these amazing teacher bloggers and scoop up as many freebies as possible!
It's on like Donkey Kong!

Thanks for stopping by. Leave me some feedback. Anything you would LOVE to see in a first grade unit on Desert Habitats?

I'm so excited! I just signed up for my first blogger meet-up! I have been following many teacher-idols and their fun adventures at blogger.TpT meet-ups. I can't believe that now I'll be going to one. I'm urging all my fellow WNY and Northeastern Teachers to join us. I'd love to put a face with some of my "friends" in the blogging, Instagram, and TpT selling world. You can read more on the fabulous LiterarySherri's blog.
Stay tuned for more info!

So excited for my first Currently link-up with Farley
I'm having such a wonderful time here in Florida. The baby did as well as can be expected on the plane ride here. :) We have two more days of fun in the sun before we have to head back to the reality of our frozen tundra home. I forgot to add to my currently that I am in big need of a tutorial on how to create "bundles". If you know of any, please help a sista out!
Easy Peasy R Controlled Vowels Centers are posted and only $1 until this time tomorrow night!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your time with me!
