I have been looking forward to receiving this box all week!! It just so happened that it was due to arrive the on the same day that I hired Merry Maids to come do a heavy duty, spring clean, at my house. It was so wonderful walking into a spotless home, that smelled so wonderful, and this beautiful box.
So, what did I get? Well, I must admit, when I opened the box I wasn't wowed. I don't know if I'd built it up in my head but I just didn't see anything that I couldn't wait to try on.

I was immediately worried about the jeans. They looked so teeny! The dress was cute and I had specifically asked for a dress because I never seem to buy dresses. I want to be a dress person, I just never have been.  The turquoise shirt was super silky, and I love the color, but it's definitely something that has to be ironed. Fun fact: I don't know how to iron. I make my husband do it. The sleeveless blouse was the item that I was most drawn too. No surprise there, I LOVE gray and the tulips were such a cute, spring pattern.
Disclaimer before we get to the try-on pictures: While taking these, I realized my bedroom is so dark and my mirror sucks. Don't judge. I don't know how Maria, from Kinder Craze, takes such beautiful pictures but you're not going to find that here. Also, no face shots. It's Friday, it's been a long week. I'm not camera ready!

When I first tried on the dress I was disappointed. It just wasn't all that flattering and it seemed a little boring. I looked at the included style card and decided to try and spice it up.
It TOTALLY needs a belt! The little jean jacket helped and made it more wearable for school. It has a pretty deep "v" in the back. I don't know that I'd feel comfortable wearing it in a professional setting without a jacket. I think it's a keeper. (ps. I don't think ankle boots are the right shoe. Maybe that's why I never wear dresses. I don't know what shoes to wear!)
Next, I tried on the teeny jeans. Thank goodness they had a lot of stretch. I was amazed but they actually fit pretty well. They have a bit of a flair at the bottom and they have a higher waist than I'm used to. I kind of dug the style but I don't know if they work for spring and summer. They're more of a "fall" jean. And the butt....man, my butt is flat. lol.
You can also see the sleeveless tulip blouse in this photo. I tried it a bunch of different ways and while I like it, it's a little boxy. I also own so much gray. Not sure if it's a keeper or not. What do you think?
Last for the try-ons was the turquoise, silky, blouse. I knew right away that this wasn't for me. First there's the ironing issue but also, it's flowy and boxy, not really my style.

You can see the necklace I received in this photo also. While it's a pretty necklace, it's very similar to something I already own.
If you're keeping track, here's the verdict-
Jeans- Return
Dress- Keep
Tulip Blouse- Keep?
Turquoise Blouse- Return
Necklace- Return

Even though I'm not keeping a lot of it and my mind wasn't blown away when I opened it, I'm still very excited about Stitch Fix. It was so fun looking forward to the box and trying things on. I also hear, from multiple sources, that it gets better over time. I'm already looking forward to my next box and I'm hoping it's even more "my style".

I'm so happy to be linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching again! This was my first week back from Spring Break and it was a good one. My Mini-Wheats were refreshed and ready to kick off our last 11 weeks together. It is crazy how fast your year goes when you spend the first three months at home, on maternity leave! To be honest, I'm slightly nervous about how I'm going to squeeze it all in.
I'm going to start with one of the most exciting parts of my week. Yesterday, a group on wonderful teacher blogger friends and I launched our 7th Inning Stretch Giveaway! Join us on Instagram and enter to win a $150 Target gift card! You have two chances to win if you follow both loops all the way through. Wouldn't $150 at Target be super fun to spend?  What a great way to kick off YOUR 7th Inning Stretch as we all wind down this school year.

This week I sent my kids home with our Solar System Fact Mobiles. This is a project I do every year. My kids love it. It's such a fun, easy, and informative project. Doesn't hurt that they look pretty adorable hanging up. They've been hanging above my students' seats for the past month or so. I tried to take pictures and man, I just couldn't capture the effect! You can check out an old post HERE from the year I hung them in the hallway.  This project has been updated and is even cuter now, if I do say so myself!
I still have former students who tell me they have it still hanging in their bedroom. :)
CLICK HERE to find it in my store.
The update also includes a variety of different writing paper to choose from.

We finished up our habitat studies this week. EngageNY Listening and Learning curriculum leaves a lot to be desired. So, I supplemented quite a bit.  I pulled out an oldie but goodie: Fishy Facts! This is a book that came with our, ages old, Houghton Mifflin reading curriculum from years past. I have a copy for each student but I just found this YouTube video:

SOOOOOOO cute!!! Love the animation. Can't wait to show my kids on Monday. The book is great for a discussion on animal adaptations. We used the information we learned to fill out our Amazing Adaptations worksheet (from my Junior Biologist Habitat Guide unit) and made fish out of construction paper scraps. Here are some of the cutest ones from my Mini-Wheats:

This little fella is still struggling with writing but how cute is his puffer?!

Last but not least, the happiest Hammerhead Shark I ever saw! "Hi ya!"
This is now my second week using Young Living Essential Oils. Six months ago, when my baby was just a newborn, I was desperate for sleep and for something that would help my colicky little guy settle in the evenings. I'd seen posts on Pinterest and heard about them from friends but now I was ready. I ordered some samples and received Peace & Calming and Lavender. I made a balm with coconut oil and rubbed it on the bottoms of his feet every night before bed. I'm not going to say I saw instant relief but it did seem to make our nights a little happier. Fast forward to two weeks ago, I attended a class with a couple friends and I decided I was ready to really give them a REAL try.
I received my kit and I haven't looked back. In fact I already have a shopping list of other oils I need to purchase. I absolutely LOVE to diffuse oils. I have noticed such a change in my sleep, my mood in the mornings, and they just smell darn good. Joy and Lemon is my favorite combo right now.
My other oil success has been the moisturizer I made with Frankincense, Tea Tree, and Lavender.
My skin has been a constant problem since I was teenager. I've been so frustrated with it: big pores, blotchiness, age spots, BREAK OUTS, blackheads... Eww, just gross and something I've always been self conscious about. In just two weeks the texture of my skin has completely changed. It's unreal. My pores are smaller, my tone is so even, everything just seems so much smoother and softer. I cannot wait to see what happens as I keep using this.
I'll keep you posted!
Well, if you're still with me, we have finally reached number 5! I jumped on another bandwagon this week. Stitch Fix!! I have been wanting to try this FOREVER. I enter every giveaway and never win. boo! So I decided I would just do it! Last night I signed up, took the style survey, and attached my Pinterest style board. My "fix" should arrive next week and I CAN.NOT.WAIT!!!! I will be sure to do a little fashion show for y'all as soon as it arrives.

Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to cruise around and read some other 5 for Friday posts! Have a great weekend everyone!
